Types of Eating Disorders
There are 3 major types of eating disorders:
Anorexia Nervosa: Anorexia is a disease that affects peoples eating behaviors in which there is self-starvation or rapid weight loss.
Symptoms:
· Having a false self-image
· Refusing to eat
· Over exercising
· Excessive weight loss
Bulimia Nervosa: Bulimia is an eating disorder where people often over eat then purge their bodies of the food they just consumed by vomiting, using laxatives or over exercising.
Symptoms:
· Repeated episodes of bingeing and purging
· Over exercising
· Extreme concern with body image
· Frequent dieting
Binge Eating Disorder: Binge eating is an eating disorder where people frequently over eat without having control over the situation.
Symptoms:
· Constant over-eating
· Feelings of depression or loneliness
· Being moderately to severely obese
